By Lionville Fire Company
January 3, 2022

On Monday, January 3rd, 2022, at 4:18 PM The Lionville Fire Company (47) along with The West Whiteland Fire Company (6), Glen Moore Fire Company (48), Ludwigs Corner Fire Company (73), East Brandywine Fire Company (49), and Uwchlan Ambulance (87) were dispatched to the unit block of East Township Line Road in Uwchlan Township for a house fire.

As fire apparatus were responding, The Chester County 911 Center was receiving supplemental information indicating that the fire was in the basement and quickly spreading. Additionally, The Uwchlan Township Police Department arrived and confirmed a "working fire" in the basement of the residence.

Engine 47-2 arrived with smoke coming from the basement and first floor and requested The Working Fire Dispatch which alerted for additional resources to the scene including The Chester County Fire Marshal's Office. Crews stretched an attack line to the exterior basement doors and began fire extinguishment. Engine 6-1 arrived next and laid a supply line from a fire hydrant to the fire scene, crews then deployed a secondary attack line to assist with extinguishment. Tower 47 and Ladder 6 arrived moments later and were assigned to assist with searching the residence to ensure all occupants were out.

As additional personnel arrived, they assisted with various tasks on the fire ground including ventilation and overhaul.

Lionville Volunteers operated at the scene for approximately 2 hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation by The Chester County Fire Marshal's Office.

Units: Engine 47-2, Tower 47, Engine 47-5, Utility 47, Assistant 47, 47 Fire Police
