By Lionville Fire Company
September 25, 2019

On Wednesday, September 25th at 8:35PM The Lionville Fire Company was dispatched to assist The Ludwigs Corner Fire Company along with The Glen Moore Fire Company, Ridge Fire Company, Kimberton Fire Company, and Uwchlan Ambulance to 1300 block of Pottstown Pike in West Vincent Township for a reported barn fire.

Initial reports indicated that the barn was fully involved in flames. Chief 73 arrived moments later and confirmed the report.

Engine 47-2 and Tower 47 quickly responded, upon their arrival Tower 47 was instructed to come up the driveway and prepare to put their aerial master stream in service, while the crew from Engine 47-2 assisted 73 with fire suppression. Rescue 47 and Engine 47-5 arrived soon after, with Engine 47-5 assisting with shuttling water to the fire scene due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area. Rescue 47 assisted the crew from Engine 47-2 with fire suppression, and salvage/overhaul of the structure.

Lionville Volunteers operated at the scene for just over 3 hours.

Special Thank You to The West Whiteland Fire Company and Good Will Fire Company for standing by at our station to cover our district while we operated at this incident.

Units: Engine 47-2, Engine 47-5, Tower 47, Rescue 47, Squad 47, Battalion 47
