Members Train on Live Fire Evolutions
By Lionville Fire Co.
March 7, 2013
Tonight, the volunteers from Lionville and West Whiteland Fire Companies headed to the West Chester Fire Training Center (WCFTC) for live fire training. Both companies have a great working relationship and spend many hours training together.
Engine 6-1, Engine 47-2, and Tower 47 went right to work securing a water supply and putting hand lines in service. Crews found multiple fires throughout the building and extinguished them. Search crews went into service right away as there were "reports" of people trapped inside. In addition, ground ladders were placed at all windows to provide an emergency escape.
Members of the Concordville and Bethel Township Fire Companies, both from Delaware County, were training in another building at WCFTC. Both companies were invited to join the live fire training exercise with us. This was a great training opportunity for fire companies that do not normally operate together.
The companies on scene ran through multiple evolutions before cleaning up and returning to their fire locals.
