One Trapped on the Turnpike

At 1:00am, Lionville Fire and East Whiteland EMS (5) was alerted to the the west bound lanes of the PA Turnpike for an auto accident, injuries unknown. Chief 47 (Chapman) arrived on scene with one vehicle overturned with entrapment. Chief 47 assumed "Turnpike Command". Rescue 47(Lt. B. Edwards) arrived on scene and began stabilizing the vehicle for extrication. The crew from Rescue 47 removed the drivers side front and rear doors to gain access to the patient inside. Engine 47-2(Deputy Chief Minahan) pulled an 1" 3/4 hose line for fire protection, and assisted in patient removal. Lionville crews extricated the victim in 22 minutes. The patient was transported to a local hospital for care.
