By Lionville Fire Company
October 31, 2009
At 6:35am, Engine 47-5 was alerted to the 100 block of Robin Rd. for a building fire assisting Downingtown Fire Department.
As Engine 47-5(FF Rachko) was responding, DFD Chief officers went on location with heavy smoke showing from all sides, and requested the 2nd alarm assignment which added Tower 47to the response. Engine 47-5 arrived as the 3rd due Engine Company and was assigned to the rear of the building where the crew began forcing all of the exterior doors. Crews from Lionville and Minquas(DFD 46) stretched multiple lines into the exposure building where they found heavy smoke conditions inside. After ventilating the exposure, crews continue flowing heavy water lines inside the main fire building. Tower 47(FF Soloman) set up on the Bravo Charlie corner for master stream operations.
After the bulk of the fire was knocked down, the Engine and Tower crew were sent to the roof to make ventilation cuts. Engine 46 stretched a line onto the roof to extinguish the fire that had been burning in void spaces.
