| We recently received a progress update from Pierce Manufacturing which includes photos of our new Pumper/Tanker under construction.
The following pictures show the water pump had some of the valves pre-plumbed before being installed in the pump house module. The pump house module is complete and has gone to be painted.
The body module is shown complete and has gone thru the paint process.
The last pictures show the chassis going down the chassis sub assembly line.
During this process the components related to the chassis are installed. Near the end of this line the cab and pump house will be installed.
The painted cab module is going down the cab sub assembly line where wiring harnesses, lighting, instrument and switch panels, seats and windows are installed.
The cab will be going through electrical output testing before being installed on the chassis.
Members of the Apparatus Committee will be traveling to Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, WI for a final inspection during the first week of November 2008. |
