Burn victim flown out.

At 1626 hours on September 12, 2006, the Lionville Fire Company(47) was dispatched along with Uwchlan EMS(87) to Walnut Lane in West Pikeland Township for a burn victim. Reporting party stated an elderly wheelchair bound man had fallen into a large burn pile and is on fire.

Chief 47 and EMS went on scene 5 minutes after dispatch reporting the elderly man to have been removed from the burn pile with severe third degree burns. Tower 47 on scene quickly extinguished the residual fire and then assisted EMS with patient care.

Skycare medical helicopter was requested to the scene. Engine 47-2 on scene established a safe landing area for the helicopter. The victim was transported to the regional burn center by helicopter for treatment. The Chester County Fire Marshals were requested to the scene for investigation.
