| On Saturday, June 17th, The Lionville Fire Company hosted the 35th Annual Robert G. Holmes Memorial Golf Classic at the Inniscrone Golf Club in Avondale. We were joined by over 100 golfers for a beautiful day on the course.
Robert Holmes was an active member of the fire company and held the position of Assistant Fire Chief when in 1982 he died suddenly from a heart attack. In 1989 in an effort to not only raise money for the fire company, but also keep Bob’s memory alive, we held the 1st Annual Robert G. Holmes Memorial Golf Classic. The tournament was a huge success and has become an annual tradition for many people. The tournament is held every year on the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend and is always packed with a full house of contestants.
