The Membership of the Lionville Fire Company mourns the loss of our former Fire Police Captain, Barbara Yagle.

Barb was an integral, active part of our company, leading our fire police unit for many years She will certainly be missed for her dedication to fire police role and kind heart, always willing to help others in need. Please keep Barb's family and friends in your thoughts during this most difficult time.

Barb's obituary as posted by the Donohue Funeral Home;


Barbara Anne Yagle, 74, of Downingtown, PA, passed away, surrounded by her loved ones, on April 28, 2023.

Born May 7, 1948 in Providence, RI, she was a daughter of the late William J. Powers and Mary H. (nee Mardsen) Powers.

A graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Providence Rhode Island. Barb worked for Trans World Airlines as a reservationist in New York City and Philadelphia. After moving to Lionville, in 1979, she worked for Moore’s Furniture in Eagle, Downingtown Travel agency in Downingtown, and The Jeweler’s Bench in Marchwood Shopping center. Barb then worked for the Downingtown Area School District, as part of the support staff including crossing guard for several years at Devon and Whitford roads.

In addition to Barb’s working career she joined the Lionville Fire Company in 1997 as a member of the Fire Police. She served as the Fire Police Captain for several years.

Her hobbies included reading and crocheting.

Barbara was the beloved wife of Robert L. Yagle; loving mother of Robert A. Yagle (and his wife Meghan Bree) and Michael L. Yagle (and his wife April Stutzman); and adoring grandmother of Brendan, Brian, Colin, Connor, Cameron, Marcy, Lucas, and Riley.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at The Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike at Hilltop Road, (Westtown) West Chester, PA 19382 followed by her Celebration of Life at 8:00 PM. Interment is private.
