On Tuesday, May 10th, at 10:30 AM, The Lionville Fire Company was dispatched to assist The West Whiteland Fire Company along with other mutual aid units to the 200 block of Crest Ave in West Whiteland Township.

Initial 911 callers reported a fire in an apartment unit which was not contained. Supplemental reports confirmed that fire was rapidly spreading, and upon arrival of the first fire apparatus, smoke and fire conditions were evident from the exterior of the structure.

As West Whiteland (6) and Goshen Fire Company (56) crews were extinguishing the fire from the front, Engine 47-2 arrived, and crews deployed a secondary hoseline to the rear of the structure to assist with fire suppression operations. Residents then reported that a subject and their pet dog were unaccounted for. The crew from Engine 47-2 were immediately reassigned, and forced entry into the two, second floor apartments and began a rapid primary search. Thankfully, the subject and their dog were located safely outside of the building.

The crew from Tower 47 was sent to the roof to assist Ladder 6 with ventilation along with finding any void areas, which might be containing hidden fire.

Lionville Volunteers operated at the scene for approximately 4 hours.
