On Friday, March 26th, Lionville Volunteers were kept busy as strong dry winds moved into the area during the afternoon.
The day began at 12:43 PM when the company was dispatched to the 200 block of Woodland Drive for a small brush fire. Crews quickly extinguished the fire.
1:46 PM - Route 100/Route 113 - Brush Fire, incorrect location given, no incident at that address.
2:11 PM - 600 block of Park Road, telephone pole/wires snapped off by falling tree. Notified PECO.
2:31 PM - 700 block of North Ship Road - Commercial Fire Alarm, false activation.
3:00 PM - 700 block of West Uwchlan Ave, Lionville along with East Whiteland EMS were dispatched for an elevator rescue. Crews arrived to find a subject stuck in an elevator in between the second and third floor due to a power outage. The elevator was lowered to the second floor landing by firefighters and the subject was extricated.
3:08 PM - W Uwchlan Ave/Northwood Drive, trees and wires down on an occupied tractor trailer. Driver self extricated. Assisted with fluid control, traffic control, notified PECO.
3:33 PM - 100 block of Whiteland Hills Circle, Engine 47-5 was dispatched to assist The West Whiteland Fire Company with a large brush fire. Due to high winds the fire was rapidly spreading. Crews responded to Llandovery Drive in Uwchlan Township, where they secured a water supply from a fire hydrant and accessed the woods to assist with fire suppression and overhaul.
3:57 PM - Engine 47-2 is dispatched to stand by to cover The West Whiteland Fire Company while they operate on their large brush fire.
4:08 PM - 100 block of North Pottstown Pike in West Whiteland Township, for wires on fire. Assistant 47 and Engine 47-2 respond. Notified PECO.
4:14 PM - 1200 block of Huntsman Lane, West Pikeland Township, residential fire alarm. Engine 47-2 redirects from the wires fire to respond to this incident. False activation.
5:04 PM - 700 block of North Ship Road - Commercial Fire Alarm, false activation.
5:19 PM - Jones Pond Park, 1201 Dowlin Forge Road, tree down on multiple vehicles with entrapment. Units arrived to find a vehicle with two subjects trapped inside from a downed tree. Crews worked quickly using chain saws in order to remove the tree and free the trapped occupants.
5:39 PM - 400 block of Creekside Drive, wires on fire. Notified PECO.
