On Thursday, February 25th at 1:58PM, The Lionville Fire Company was dispatched for Boat 47 to assist The Glenmoore Fire Company for an ice rescue. The East Brandywine Fire Company, Uwchlan Ambulance, and Minquas Fire Company EMS were also dispatched to assist.

Initial reports indicated that subject had fallen through the ice at Marsh Creek State Park and that the subject was clinging onto the ice shelf for over 15 minutes.

Once on scene Glenmoore Fire Company along with East Brandywine and Lionville Fire Company deployed into the water to quickly rescue the subject. Once out of the water, they were transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Quick work by all teams made a difference this day.

As a reminder, no ice is safe ice. Use caution and good judgement before walking or skating on frozen water.
