Another Accident With Entrapment on Pennsylvania Turnpike

On Thursday, May 21st at 12:05PM, The Fire Company along with Uwchlan Ambulance (87) were alerted to an auto accident at 304.8 west bound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. The Chester County 911 Center started receiving additional calls reporting that the accident was involving two tractor trailers and an SUV, with the driver of one of the tractor trailers trapped inside.

The assignment was quickly upgraded to an auto accident with entrapment. Supplemental reports indicated the driver of the tractor trailer was heavily entrapped due to the damage from the vehicle. Upon hearing the new reports, Rescue 48 (Glen Moore Fire Company) was requested to assist.

Rescue 47 arrived on scene and confirmed the report. Crews from Rescue 47 and Rescue 48 performed a dash roll and removed the A pillar to free the driver from the vehicle. The patient was extricated in 16 minutes.

Lionville Volunteers operated at the scene for an hour.
