Saturday, October 19th proved to be a busy day for Lionville Volunteers who responded to 7 emergencies throughout the day.

The day started early when at 5:43 AM, The Lionville Fire Company was dispatched to 314.1 East Bound on The Pennsylvania Turnpike for a car fire. Uwchlan Ambulance had been previously dispatched for an injured person after an auto accident. Upon arrival of MICU 87-1, they found the vehicle on fire.

Battalion 47, Engine 47-2, and Engine 47-5 arrived on the scene and were able to quickly extinguish the fire.


10:13 AM - Lionville along with Uwchlan Ambulance were dispatched to the 400 block of Braceland Drive in Uwchlan Township for a subject stuck on his roof. Crews arrived and were able to get the person back down to ground safely.

11:18 AM - Tower 47 was dispatched to the 200 block of Buchanan Court in Downingtown Borough assisting The Downingtown Fire Department with a house fire. The fire was extinguished by the homeowner, upon arrival of Tower 47, members assisted with checking for extension and ventilating the structure.

1:05 PM - Engine 47-2 is dispatched to standby at The Good Will Fire Company while The West Chester Fire Department is operating on a hazardous materials incident.

1:20PM - While enroute to the standby, Engine 47-2 is redirected to respond to the 300 block of N Walnut Street in West Chester Borough for additional manpower at the hazardous materials incident. Crews assisted with air monitoring, and investigation. Engine 47-2 operated at this incident for 4 hours.

3:17PM - 900 block of Seven Oaks Road in West Pikeland Township (Fire Alarm)

10:44PM - Lionville is dispatched to assist The East Brandywine Fire Company on the 200 block of Reeceville Road in West Brandywine Township for an out building fire.

Units: Engine 47-2, Engine 47-5, Rescue 47, Tower 47
