This morning Assistant Chief Michael Esterlis, Lieutenant William Behrndt and Firefighter Daniel Chapman along with West Whiteland Fire Company Assistant Chief Michael Holmes were presented with the Pop Winters Valor Award for heroic actions by rescuing civilians in 2018.

Assistant Chiefs’ Esterlis and Holmes rescued an elderly woman who was trapped in a house fire.

Lieutenant Behrndt and Firefighter Chapman entered a confined space manure pit at a farm in order to rescue a toddler who had fallen in and was quickly sinking in the product.
