2nd Alarm Fire In East Caln Township

On Monday, September 9th at 7:52AM, The Lionville Fire Company was dispatched along with The West Whiteland Fire Company (6), and The First West Chester Fire Company (51) to assist The Downingtown Fire Department (45/46) on the unit block of Downing Circle for a reported house fire. Initial calls, reported that smoke was evident from the roof area. First arriving fire units reported heavy smoke with fire showing from the rear.

Engine 47-5 and Tower 47 responded to the scene. Engine 47-5 arrived and their crew split into two teams. One team ascended to the second floor to assist with fire attack while the other team was assigned to ventilation and search.

Tower 47 arrived, the ladder was placed to the roof and crews prepared for vertical ventilation.

Engine 47-2 and Utility 47 also responded to the scene and assisted with manpower.

The fire was quickly brought under control.

Lionville Volunteers operated at the scene for 2 hours.
