The Lionville Fire Company is pleased to announce it has received a $3500.00 donation from the Rotary Club of Central Chester County. The donation was the result of the recent 4th Annual Grapes & Hops event, which the Rotary Club hosted at LFC in April. These funds will support the Fire Company’s recruitment and retention program.

This year the Rotary Club of Central Chester County celebrates 28 years of service to the Lionville-Downingtown-Exton community.

During the past year the Rotary Club supported many local organizations, and events, including: the Lionville Fire Company, the Chester County Food Bank, the Downingtown East Post Prom Party, held a cookout at the Coatesville Veterans Hospital, provided and served Thanksgiving Dinner to the clients and staff at Handi-Crafters in Thorndale, PA, and supported the Home of the Sparrow, which provides services for low income women and children.

The Rotary Club of Central Chester County was founded 28 years ago to support local and international service projects. Rotary’s most ambitious international project has been to eradicate polio worldwide, providing millions of vaccinations worldwide on national immunization days. This dream is in reach, with only two countries in the world, Pakistan and Nigeria, left to be declared “polio free.”

As a volunteer organization, the Lionville Fire Company is grateful for the support of organizations such as the Rotary Club of Central Chester County. This donation will help support the recruitment of additional volunteers for both Administrative and Firefighting functions. In addition, this donation will support the dedicated volunteers who sustain the high levels of service to community.
