On Thursday, March 24th at 10:59, The Lionville Fire Company was dispatched to The Pennsylvania Turnpike East Bound at mile marker 314.7 for a reported tractor trailer fire. Assistant 47 and Engine 47-5 responded and were advised by The Chester County 911 Center that reports were indicating that there was a fire located in the trailer, which was quickly engulfing it.

Assistant 47 and Engine 47-5 arrived moments later, and went to work attacking the fire. Deputy 47 arrived and assumed command of the situation. Due to the lack of water, and the manpower needed to unload the contents in the trailer in order to extinguish the flames additional resources were requested. This alerted Engine 4-5 (Malvern Fire Company), Engine 5-5 (East Whiteland Fire Company), Rescue 6 (West Whiteland Fire Company), Engine 48-5 (GlenMoore Fire Company), Engine 69-5 (Twin Valley Fire Department). Additionally, Air 46 (Minquas Fire Company) was requested to assist at the scene to fill air cylinders.

Crews worked together to bring the situation under control. In total, members operated at the scene for 3 hours.

Special thank you to Engine 46-2 (Minquas Fire Company) and Tanker 52 (Good Will Fire Company) for standing by at our station to cover any calls while crews operated at this incident.
