Lionville Volunteers had a busy Thursday. The day started out just before 10AM, when the company was dispatched to the 200 block of Welsh Pool Road for a fire alarm. Engine 47-5 and Deputy 47 arrived and found it to be a false activation.

For our weekly drill night members began setting up for our annual clambake, but a fast approaching thunderstorm resulted in multiple calls.

At 7:24 PM, the company was dispatched to the 100 block of Sheree Blvd for a fire alarm. The Chester County 911 Center quickly advised that they had received a second call at Route 100 & South Village Ave for a transformer on fire. Engine 47-2 and Chief 47 responded to the call on Sheree Blvd, while Engine 47-5 and Deputy 47 responded to the transformer fire. Crews arrived at the transformer fire and determined that no fire company services were needed, and turned the incident over to PECO.

Due to Uwchlan Ambulance (87) being tied up on other emergencies in the township, MICU 46-2 (Minquas Fire Company) was dispatched to cover them for a fall victim. Engine 47-5 and Utility 47 responded to the scene to begin patient care. The crews assisted the resident, and it was determined that no ambulance was required.

Engine 47-2 and Chief 47 determined the fire alarm activation at Sheree Blvd was a malfunctioning system.

Just before 9PM, The Lionville Fire Company and Uwchlan Ambulance were dispatched to the Pennsylvania Turnpike West Bound at mile marker 305.0 for a reported auto accident with a vehicle on fire. Engine 47-2, Engine 47-5, Rescue 47, Chief 47, and MICU 87-4 immediately responded. Crews arrived to find one vehicle that was well involved with fire, which Lionville Volunteers were able to quickly bring the incident under control.
