First Due Building Fire

On February 16th at 12:16 PM, The Lionville Fire Company was dispatched to a fire alarm at 1 East Uwchlan Ave. The Chester County 911 began receiving multiple calls advising smoke was filling up the second floor. The assignment was quickly upgraded, adding the West Whiteland Fire Company (6), Uwchlan Ambulance (87), and the Fame Fire Company (53) for the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT).

Assistant 47 arrived and advised that there was a working fire on the second floor, and requested the Working Fire Dispatch. This added the Kimberton Fire Company (61) for their Tower, Uwchlan Ambulance (87) for a second ambulance, and the Malvern Fire Company (4) for the second Rapid Intervention Team.

Engine 47-2 arrived, and crews went to the second floor to began attacking the fire. Engine 6-2 arrived shortly thereafter and streched a back up hose line to the second floor to assist with fire extinguishment.

The fire was quickly brought under control.

Lionville volunteers operated at the scene for 2 hours.
