On Monday morning, September 15th at 05:17 hours, the Lionville Fire Company, along with a Rescue and Tanker from the Kimberton Fire Company (61), Fame Fire Company (53) for the RIT assignment, and Uwchlan Ambulance (87) were dispatched to Duncan Way in West Pikeland Township for a house fire. Thankfully, the residents were alerted of the fire by their smoke detectors and everyone immediately evacuated the residence. Chief 47 arrived on the scene with fire showing from the roof. He requested Engine 47-2 arrived and dropped a supply line at the nearby hydrant. Crews deployed attack lines and began battling the fire. However, conditions of the structure deteriorated and it was determined that the structure was no longer safe, therefore crews went into a defensive attack. Portable and mounted master streams were then placed into service. Tower 47 arrived and began placing portable ladders to windows and assisted with fire suppression. Rescue 61 arrived and deployed a second attack line to the rear of the building. The fire was placed under control in just over an hour. Lionville Volunteers operated at the scene for 5 hours. The Fire Company would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family. |
