| This afternoon, a few senior members spent a few hours on Officer Development. Lieutenant Edwards sent Engine47-2 and Tower47 to a commercial building fire scenario in the first due. Engine47-2 and Tower47 arrived and went in service. The unit officers were thrown for a few loops to give them opportunities to make split second decisions on the fire ground. Both unit officers worked together to complete all tasks that need to be done by the first in units. Members gave first-in reports, scene size ups, layout instructions, stretched landlines, and secured utilities to the building.
The second scenario was all problem solving. Members were given minimal equipment, and had to find a way to complete the task at hand.
All members stepped up and worked as a team throughout the afternoon. Great work by everyone. |
